I am deeply concerned and disappointed by the damning matters highlighted in the Care Quality Commission’s inspection of Lakeside Healthcare at Stamford. The report published is far worse than what I and many others expected. After campaigning to prevent the closure of the St Mary’s Medical Centre last year, the local community deserves better, and should be confident in the care they are receiving from all GP practices, as a patient of St Mary’s for most of my life, we need to see a vast improvement very quickly in the quality of service being provided. I will be working closely with our local MP’s, NHS leaders and Lakeside Healthcare to ensure standards are swiftly improved.
This also highlights the need to investigate and look into the opportunities to support a new GP practice to open in Stamford, especially with the future projected growth.
