On a blustery Friday, Stamford came together in a moving open-air service at St Michael’s Churchyard to mark Holocaust Memorial Day, coinciding with the 80th anniversary of the liberation of Auschwitz-Birkenau and the 30th anniversary of the genocide in Bosnia. The service, led by Reverend Andrew Hollins and Graham Berkman, featured a two-minute silence, poignant poetry, and tributes to remember the victims of the Holocaust and other genocides.
The commemorations continue with a powerful exhibition of student artwork at Stamford Town Hall, exploring this year’s theme, ‘For a Better Future.’ The exhibition is open daily next week from 10:30am to 3:30pm—I encourage everyone to visit, reflect, and support this important message.
