Rosemary and I have each donated our £500 Ward Member Grants to upgrade the playground on Bertie Lane in #Uffington.
The new equipment will include an inclusive roundabout, a seesaw, a ball shooter, a spinner, and a large multi-play unit which with two towers, a slide, a rope bridge and a fireman pole.
The donation we have contributed will be supplemented by funds from Uffington Village Hall and the Somes Trust to support updating the playground with new, long-lasting equipment.
The existing site, whilst being a great location for play, has been underused in recent years due to a lack of play equipment, particularly for older children and those with disabilities, and would therefore benefit from new and more accessible additions.
The installation of this new play equipment will take place in January 2022, and will complement recent changes to the park, such as the newly-planted hedgerows and an upcoming wild flower area.
