With the Government’s new national lockdown restrictions taking effect from today (5 January) and running until at least February half-term, I understand businesses will be keen to know what support is available during these difficult times.
Yesterday morning the Chancellor announced a new package of grant support for businesses in the retail, leisure and hospitality sector and, while we’re still waiting for detailed guidance about how this funding should be administered, I wanted to share the following headline information with you:
Closed businesses in the retail, hospitality and leisure sectors that are live on the business rates register will receive a one-off grant payment as follows:
- £4,000 for businesses with a rateable value of £15,000 or under
- £6,000 for businesses with a rateable value between £15,001 and £51,000
- £9,000 for businesses with a rateable value of over £51,000
This new support is in addition to existing grant schemes for eligible businesses forced to close since the 5 November national lockdown.
Further funding will be made available for South Kesteven District Council to support other businesses not eligible for the grants that might be affected by the restrictions.
InvestSK will once again be administering these funds on behalf of and in partnership with South Kesteven District Council.
As soon as more details about the new grant programmes are released by Government, we’ll interpret and update you. In the meantime, please click here to visit our website for the latest information about the grant schemes we’re currently operating.
I'm also pleased that InvestSK will be hosting our next Tea Break event at 9.30am on Monday 25 January where we’ll provide an update about the latest support available. Businesses in all sectors are welcome to attend – please book your free place here.
